brain box.
Project Proposal
Individuals struggle every day with chronic migraines. Some individuals can suffer for weeks or even months at a time with migraine attacks. “More than 10% of individuals suffer from migraines worldwide, and over one billion people annually” (Pubmed 2021). This way of living can be a struggle when doing everyday tasks such as attending work and school. To be diagnosed with chronic migraines, you have to see a physician who can help pinpoint symptoms and have reoccurring migraine attacks. As a way to help relieve symptoms of migraine attacks, I created a care box that will include the necessities you will need to help conquer that head pain while never leaving your home.
Brain Box is a monthly subscription box that includes items health professionals recommend to help alleviate migraine attacks. Some of the items included in Brain Box include icepacks, peppermint and ginger candies, eye masks, water bottles, caffeine, and Emesis bags. This box will allow individuals who have difficulty leaving their homes due to migraines, to have a solution to help conquer their pain without leaving the house.
The primary target audience will be individuals who suffer from chronic migraines. According to online resources, This box is designed to help people of all ages and genders, making it highly diverse.

peppermints packaging.
For the peppermints I wanted to include the wave shapes that repeat throughout the entire project. I stuck with the pink and purple colors to keep the project cohesive. I used Adobe illustrator to create the design of the packaging and to illustrate the peppermint leaf.
eye mask.
For the design of the eye mask box I wanted to include the wavy shapes and I also stick with the same purple and pink color palette. I used the same bold typeface so that it is easy to read and grabs your attention.
water bottle.
For the water bottle I decided to pick a bottle that matches the colors used throughout the project. I decided to place the logo on the water bottle to give it a clean sophisticated look.
emesis bags.
The emesis bags include the illustration of a brain just like the illustration inside of the shipping box. Repeating waves are included to the design to make it cohesive to the rest of the elements.
hydration packs
The hydration packs use the same colors of purple and pink while also having the same wavy shapes. I illustrated a drop of water to indicate it is for hydration.
brain box. Logo
The logo for brain box. is a pink brain inside of a purple box. I knew I wanted the box to be apart of the logo since this is a subscription box and the brain symbolizes migraines. I used Concon Pro for the typeface for the logo and the the packaging.

Research Synopsis
To prepare myself for this project I started collecting information on migraines. I wanted to know different ways people relieve their migraines and which ways work and which ways seem to be less useful. I narrowed down the information that I have found to determine the best collection of items used to effectively relieve migraines and other symptoms that come from migraines such as nausea and vommitting.
For the packaging components I researched common subscription boxes and used that information when deciding on which type of packaging would be best suitable for my products that are included.
Process Narrative
When starting this project the first part of the entire process was doing research on migraines and different subscription boxes. From there I started creating my logo. For the logo I came up with a few different ideas but it didnt take long for me to have my finished logo. After coming up with my logo I had an idea of what colors I would be using for the rest of the elements. I needed to come up with something that would be used throughout the entire project. I liked the curves and wavy lines I used when creating the brain of my brain box and that is when I decided I would implement waves throughout the project.
The website took the longest to design since I had a hard time figuring out how i wanted the layout to look like. I used repeating curved shapes to relate back to the logo and waves that are used in the packaging elements. I used various websites to create mockups of each element to be displayed on the website.
